Getting your website noticed can seem an impossible task. Well our introductory guide will help you get started.

One of the things that you will want to do with your website is get it noticed, not necessarily by everyone but at least by those who might be interested in what you have to say or offer. The traditional approach centres very much on the search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo and so on). The aim is to get your site listed as near to the top of the results as possible when someone uses words or phrases in their search that indicate they might just be interested in what you have. This is called Search Engine Optimisation (or SEO for short).

More recently, the use of social media has been an excellent way to get your site noticed. This is less formulaic than SEO as it is based on people highlighting your site and pointing you out to others who maybe interested - so visitors will not necessarily searched for your offering but simply visited because someone they "know" has suggested it.
